MSB S3E10: Gets Planted

I'm going to grow this review with photosynthesis. Especially when Phoebe becomes Phoe-bean. How? Well, I'll explain with this review! Blog, do your stuff!

36. Gets Planted.
Topic: Photosynthesis.

The class is performing a play of Jack and the Beanstalk. As Phoebe gets stage fright, she decides to make the props. However, there is problem with the beanstalk: She tried to grow a real one, but it did not work; so she tried to build one, but that did not work either. Naturally, the Friz turns her into a bean plant and Phoebe becomes shorter than Liz. However, no one is sure how plants get food.

"Fee fi fo fum!"

Carlos makes a great giant, doesn't he? 

"Without a beanstalk, this play's really dumb!"

And Wanda's playing Jack. For some reason. 

Phoebe tried to build a beanstalk, but it turned out to be pretty shoddy.

Even the class think it's shoddy work the beanstalk.

And this is why Phoebe was building a pretend beanstalk. Her real one wouldn't grow.

So the next best thing to do is use The Magic School Bus to change Phoebe's appearance.

As Carlos said, Phoebe is Phoe-bean! She's literally a beanstalk.

Look how small she is compared to Liz, Dorothy Ann and Arnold. Not a good beanstalk.

Made sense for Phoebe to shiver when Liz watered her since she's only going to be a beanstalk until the play is over.

Er, why would a plant want to eat Cheezy Wheezies? It's pretty strange that Keesha would try to feed Phoebe some Cheezy Wheezies, the ones she took from Arnold.

Now we're going to see how plants grow, with the help of The Magic School Subterrene.

Plants use their roots to grow in ground and suck up water for their own benefits. And if there are any rocks in the way, they will crack them.

Uh-oh. Liz, you shouldn't have done that. No sunshine, no beanstalk. No beanstalk, no play.

"Class, prepare for a 'totally tubular experience', OK?"

Who would've thought Valerie could do such a good accent. 

The white stuff that landed on Wanda is sugar, showing that plants make their own food.

Where did Phoe-bean go? Liz must've taken her into the play.

Useful thing to do. The Magic School Crane can open the roof to the school's gymnasium.

Now this is great encouragement from Keesha, encouraging Phoebe to grow into a magic beanstalk.

It's all thanks to Keesha's encouragement that Phoebe's now growing into a giant beanstalk, and Wanda can climb her!

Good to see Phoebe back in her human self, hungry for people food, in this case, Arnold's mallowblaster.

Who would've thought the producer owned a vegetable garden? And he's further explaining that plants, including vegetables and plants that grow vegetables and fruit need water, air, and the sun.


Okay, I've summed up the entire class and who they're playing in Jack and the Beanstalk. 

Wanda - Jack.
Keesha - Jack's mum.
Carlos - Giant.
Ralphie - Cow's front half.
Arnold - Cow's rear half.
Tim - Person who gave Jack beans.
Dorothy Ann - Princess.
Phoebe - Beanstalk.
Liz - Duck.

This marks the first time anyone in the class turns into a plant, in this case Phoebe. Though I find it puzzling as to why Keesha would try feeding her Cheezy Wheezies as a plant?

While it was pretty illogical of Liz to hide Phoebe in a box, blocking the sun out, unless she was so desperate to hide Phoebe from the other kids, this was a very good way to learn about photosynthesis, which is the process of what plants need to grow and how to grow. And I will admit, Phoebe does make a good beanstalk, Dorothy Ann makes a cute princess, Carlos makes a great giant, and Wanda makes a strange yet brill Jack. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have to grow my own magic beanstalk and visit the giant's castle.
