Janet is disappointed by the all-school field trip to a light show, considering that she wanted to see a magic show. She tells the class she could do a magic trick, but she cannot because of the ghost that haunts the theater. When the class leaves the theater they find Arnold missing. When they enter the theater again, they see Arnold's "ghost." Keesha, the skeptic, is convinced that it is really a trick done by Janet to scare them. She soon finds out that Janet is using the Pepper's Ghost Effect to scare the class.
I guess the entirety of Walkerville Elementary has gone to a light show. And lots of bright lights.
And this episode features the return of the girl you all love to hate. Arnold's loony cousin Janet. She thinks this light show was a "Yawn burger with a side of snores." She must've gotten it from Wanda.
I see every other kid enjoyed the light show. And it was Keesha's idea. Janet wanted them to go to a magic show.
Janet's stories! She thinks ghosts exist. Oh we're not so sure about that.
What's funny here is Keesha crept up on Dorothy Ann and Carlos, talking spookily, saying the ghost got Arnold and Janet.

Ms. Frizzle! Now she's wearing a dress full of light globes and lighthouses and shoes with flashlights.
It's Arnold! Janet was right! There is a ghost in the theatre!

There's one thing interesting about this episode. One of the voices in this episode was provided by Gil Filar, who is the little brother of Phoebe's voice actress Maia Filar.
What was funny about this episode was Keesha spooking Dorothy Ann and Carlos after they exited the theatre, and the ending when Keesha played a trick on Janet. This is the life lesson the episode teaches. If someone tricks you, it's only fair you trick them.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but if I had to choose between Janet's idea and Keesha's idea, I would've gone with Janet's idea. Maybe this is why Janet sometimes visits Ms. Frizzle's class apart from "because her cousin is in that class"
This was a funny episode with a cheeky life lesson, just when Keesha realises Janet's trick and uses it to trick her back. And it was an interesting way to teach kids about light and how it travels, bounces off reflective things, and how it can be used to create illusions and shadows. The effect Janet and Keesha did is a Pepper's Ghost. Well, reviewing this series in its entirety sure was a bright idea of mine. And there's another lesson about light. It travels faster than sound.
"How does she do that?!"
Simple, Wanda. She's magical. More like how did you manage to fit your flippers into your normal shoes?
"According to my research, wait! I need more light."
It's funny that Dorothy Ann used her catchphrase before interrupting herself due to how dark it is in the theatre.
"Right! What? It sounds reasonable to me!"
