Codename KND S1E04: Operation: P.I.R.A.T.E. & C.O.W.G.I.R.L.

Yee-harr! I'm going to go to an episode featuring some lolly loving pirates, and an episode featuring a cowgirl.

6. Operation: P.I.R.A.T.E.

Pirates Invade Repository And Treats Extracted.
Written by: Robert Leighton, Mo Willems, and Thomas Warburton.
Aired: 20 December 2002.

A pirate ship is moving through the neighborhood and leveling everything in its path. Meanwhile, in the Sector V Treehouse, Numbuh 5 opens a treasure chest full of candy and gives it all to the rest of Sector V. Suddenly, gum wads start coming through the wall and hitting them. It's the "Sweet Revenge" pirate ship. The pirates on the ship all aboard the treehouse. Numbuh 5 quickly hides the treasure chest full of candy. The pirates and the kids fight. 

Sector V manages to defeat some of the pirates with their SLUGGUHs, but the pirates soon overwhelm them. Having secured the treehouse, two of the pirates, Chewy and Gooey, signal this to the chief pirate, Stickybeard, who promptly comes in.

Stickybeard is a candy-obsessed pirate, given the candy cane peg leg (that is, it's just the straight part of the lollipop) with gum on the end of his peg leg, some candy is stuck in his beard, a candy cane for a hook hand, and his teeth are in really bad shape. He demands all the candy, and Numbuh 5 refuses, saying he can have anything except the candy. But the pirates still take all the candy and take it to their ship. The pirates are about to leave, when Stickybeard notices the hidden treasure chest of candy. He takes it, too, and Numbuh 5 manages to burst out from beneath the pirates that were holding her and the other Sector V members dog pile and grab the treasure chest.

She says there's no way she's letting go of the candy, so he just takes her and the chest and warns the rest of the Sector V members not to follow them. The ship "sails off" and Chewy and Gooey bind Numbuh 5 to the mast with licorice, but she just eats it and gets free. She sneaks around and tries to take the treasure chest with her. The pirates notice her and try to attack her, and she's about to get away, but the weight of the chest pulls her down. Stickybeard takes the chest and throws it into the hold of the vessel with the rest of the candy.

Seeing how much Numbuh 5 likes candy, he offers to make Numbuh 5 his first mate, and that they'll rob kids of their candy, and that she'll become captain of the ship and get all of his candy when his teeth are completely rotted. He tells her that she'll have all the candy for 200 miles. He adds that the 200 miles is in nautical miles, which he believes is more than normal miles. Numbuh 5 thinks about it, but then rejects Stickybeard because she doesn't want to leave the KND.

Stickybeard makes Numbuh 5 walk the plank, but Sector V arrives and saves her in the nick of time. The kids had reconfigured their treehouse into a flying ship and they proceed to attack the pirates. This time the KND manage to take out the pirates. During the course of the fighting, Numbuh 5 tries to find her candy and finds it deep down inside the ship's hold. She's about to leave with it, but Stickybeard interferes once again. Numbuh 5 says she will see Stickybeard at the dentist. Then the two engage in a classic sword fight using candy cane swords, but Stickybeard manages to destroy Numbuh 5's sword, much to both of their displeasure, and he pins her against the wall.

Meanwhile, Numbuh 2 and Chewy and Gooey are fighting over the steering wheel, causing the ship to move about in different directions. The steeple of a building smashes open the hull of the vessel, releasing all of the candy and stopping Stickybeard from finishing off Numbuh 5. A bunch of kids all see it and start eating the candy. Numbuh 2 asks Numbuh 5 if she's okay, and she says she's feeling sweet. The episode ends with Stickybeard, Chewy and Gooey sadly rowing off into the sunset in a really small rowboat named the "Bittersweet".

That's very clever, Numbuh 5. Eat that licorice! 

Blurpleberry! 

Losing your balance, Numbuh 5? That chest is heavy. 

That is one sweet sweet imagination she has. 

Walk the plank, you scurvy girl! 

That's a Gonzoriffic catch you made, Numbuh Two! 

One unexpected moment. Throw gumballs in the pirates' way! 

Go for it, Numbuh 4! Blow that bubblegum! 

There's a good fight here! Numbuh 5 against Stickybeard! 

Abandon ship! Abandon ship! 

All the kids want all that candy Stickybeard has for them! 

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the street. Yo, ho, ha, har, Stickybum's in defeat! 

Well, we got another main villain introduced to the series. That's Stickybeard, voice by Mark Hamill, best known for playing Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episodes 4-6.

There was an unpredictable shot. Numbuh 3 threw gumballs in the pirates' path. You'd think they'd trip over them, but they just chewed on them.

Well, this was an unpredictable episode. A lolly-loving pirate. A villain that does fit well in this series, since kids love lollies, and adults want to have all the confectionery all to themselves. I mean, that confectionery did look delicious. And that moment where Numbuh 2 saved Numbuh 5 was epic. And like many KND fans, I support the pairing.

7. Operation: C.O.W.G.I.R.L.
Crazy Old Woman Goes Increasingly Really Loco.

Written by: Thomas Warburton, Thomas Eaton, and Mo Willems.
Aired: 20 December 2002.

 Sector V is retreating from Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb's Superchair robot, and Numbuh 2 holding some kind of glowing rock in his hand. Suddenly, a rope appears and grabs Sector V, saving their lives. The robot stops and Mr. Fibb and Mr. Wink don't understand what happened. The person who saved them resembles a cowgirl. The mystery person tells Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb that they can have the KND and the glowing rock over her dead body. Mr. Fibb and Mr. Wink fire missiles at her, but she jumps away.

However, Sector V loses the glowing rock they had from before. Sector V all wake up in a treehouse... but it isn't theirs. This one is a fairly broken-down in a strip mall. The cowgirl from before appears, and she introduces herself as Lasso Lass. She claims to fight adults, despite the fact she appears to be at retiring age. She's also the last member of the Cowboy Kids Club, which seems to be some KND-style organization. Lasso Lass shows Sector V around, except all of her "technology" she has is really outdated.

But everyone except Numbuh 1 is absolutely amazed at it for some reason. (When Lasso Lass shows her tin can phones, she says, "Hello, can you read me?" and Numbuh 1 replies: "Hello, would you like to accept a collect call FROM THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY!?")

Meanwhile, Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb are arguing about whether or not they should open the dome (they're referring to the thing that the KND were running with earlier). Back at Lasso Lass' treehouse, while the rest of the KND are continually impressed by everything, Numbuh 1 gets impatient. Numbuh 1 notices a picture of what were some ex-members of the Cowboy Kids Club, and Lasso Lass says they were really good adult-fighters until they grew up before breaking down into tears. Numbuh 1 sympathetically says that is too bad. Then she says that with Sector V they can reform the Cowboy Kids Club. But Numbuh 1 points out they're not cowboys and that you can't really fight adults if you're an adult. Lasso Lass gets mad and says she's not an adult. The two argue about whether she's an adult or not and Lasso Lass claims she can do anything the KND can, so Numbuh 1 challenges her to go get the dome. Lasso Lass leaves on her horse Clip-Clop to retrieve the rock in the dome. Numbuh 1 wants to leave, but the rest of the KND insist on staying and waiting for Lasso Lass.

A whole day passes, and Numbuh 1 says they should leave. They're about to leave when Lasso Lass calls them on her old radio. She starts saying that they're having a pizza party at Mr. Fibb and Mr. Wink's house, but then says that they shouldn't come and it's a trap. Meanwhile, Mr. Fibb and Mr. Wink have Lasso Lass and Clip-Clop tied up suspended over what seems to be a pool of acid. Numbuh 1 shows up with a pizza box, and says he has to check to see if there's onions on it, and then he has to "call this one in". Using one of those outdated telephones, he calls "Kids Next Door, BATTLE STATIONS!" Sector V appears in Lasso Lass's Cowboy Treehouse, transformed into a giant horse robot. Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb pull out their Superchair robot and they fight with them. Finally, the two robots collide and explode.

Next thing we see, the Sector V are also tied up and suspended over another pool of acid. Mr. Fibb accuses Lasso Lass for never growing up and quitting the organization years ago. He then angrily states she should have gone to the prom with him. Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb finally open the dome -- it turns out it was just a wig, which Mr. Fibb puts on. It turns out that both Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb were once members of the Cowboy Kids Club. Mr. Fibb is mad at Lasso Lass because she only liked people with a full head of hair, and he was bald ever since the age of 14, so she didn't go to the prom with him (She went out with a guy named Texas Tommy according to Mr. Wink). The branch that was holding up the rope Lasso Lass and Clip-Clop was tied up in snaps and she is free. She says she thinks Mr. Fibb looks really cute with the hair (though she calls him "Timmy"), and says he's so cute she could kiss him. She's just about to, and he gets really scared and runs away. Mr. Wink also starts running from Clip-Clop, who seems to be in love with him. Lasso Lass and Clip-Clop gallop after them into the sunset, leaving the kids still suspended over the acid pool. The KND (except for Numbuh 1, of course) are all bidding them farewell using "wild west" terms (i.e., "May our trails cross again!"). Numbuh 1 frustratingly demands that they cut it out, but they don't listen.

We now once again meet the first KND villains, Mr. Fibb and Mr. Wink. Trying to capture the Kids Next Door. 

An outlaw has caught the KND! 

Now they're a robot! Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb are a robot! 

Now that's an inadequate treehouse at the mini mall. 

And this here, is the one who saved the KND. Lasso Lass! 

Numbuh 1 doesn't think it's a glory. It's a duuuuuuuuuuump! 

Well, there's some molten lava, and Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb have the dome. 

Well, Lasso still has her stoopid rope lassoing Numbuh 1. 

The Cowboy Kids Club, what Lasso Lass used to be a part of. 

And there's an old steed. Clip-Clop.

Calling the Kids Next Door! Lasso is on the air. 

She and Clip Clop are at the worst pizza partay ever! 

That's a clever use for the pizza box, Numbuh 1. 

It's Horse vs. Chair!

The chair leg hit the lava! And it broke! 

Or did it? It grew another one, and it's tying the horse treehouse! 

Now the Kids Next Door and Lasso Lass are trapped! 

Well, Mr. Fibb has hair again! Though he is balding. 

Don't worry, Mr. Fibb. Lasso loves ya. 

Well, Mr. Wink doesn't want to love Clip Clop.


Well, here was a strange mission. The Kids Next Door being helped by an uh-dult. This uh-dult is Lasso Lass, who used to be a kid.

One thing this episode reveals are Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb's first names. Mr. Wink's first name is John, and Mr. Fibb's first name is Timothy.

What I've noticed in this episode is Numbuh 3 had Caucasian skin throughout.

Also, I noticed that Lasso sounded a lot like Dexter from Dexter's Laboratory.


Well, Numbuh 1 did act like a jerk in a lot of this episode, but for a good reason; They needed to get that dome back. And Lasso Lass acting like a kid shows you're always young at heart. And Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb's first names revealed was something. But the problem with the ending was the Kids Next Door weren't saved at the end. But then again, still a decent watch.

My rating: 7/10.

This was still an interesting episode. We got the introduction of Stickybeard, who will be a recurring villain later on, and Lasso Lass, who loves Mr. Fibb, which didn't resolve the Kids Next Door's rescue. Oh well, still a good episode.

Now, I'm going to cut off the power with a villain who throws gross food, and a villain who is willing to brush your teeth as clean as possible!

4. Operation: N.O.-P.O.W.U.H.

New Orders - Pulverise Opposition Without Utilising Hamsters.

Written by: Mo Willems and Thomas Warburton.

Aired: 13 December 2002.

The episode begins with the Parent Teacher Organization of Eradicating Youngsters attacking the Sector V Treehouse and being defeated by the KND's various 2x4 weaponry. After the fight, Numbuh 1 asks Numbuh 2 about the ineffective device he used during the battle, and, Numbuh 2 tells him that it is a "rubber band food flinger". Numbuh 1 then scolds him for failing to make better use of their highly advanced resources, showing the team the treehouse's central power core, which contains thousands of Hamsters running around in wheels to power the treehouse and is stated to be the largest power source in the world. Suddenly, the hamsters stop running and scurry out of the treehouse wearing sombreros. Numbuh 3 openly claims responsibility for this, saying that the hamsters deserve a vacation for all their hard work. This causes the treehouse's power to instantly go out.

Meanwhile, in the Delightful Mansion From Down The Lane, the Delightful Children are holding job applications for villains seeking to defeat the Kids Next Door. After the Toilenator is rejected and launched out of the house, Gramma Stuffum suddenly barges into the room, wanting to fatten up the Delightful Children with her disgusting food. They tell her that they have just eaten, and that if they eat all her food, there won't be any left for "those poor, starving Kids Next Door", directing her to the location of the treehouse. Back at the treehouse, Numbuh 1 panics at their situation, which leaves them vulnerable to attack. Numbuh 5 asks what's the worst that could happen, which is immediately followed by Gramma Stuffum crashing through the wall behind her ("That could happen.").

She sends her army of living food at the children, and the gluttonous Numbuh 2 eats the food that is sent at him while the others attempt to fight it by normal means, which proves ineffective. His enormous appetite alarms Gramma Stuffum's companions, Liver and Onions, and they push him into the basement to get rid of him. The food continues to feed itself to the remaining kids until they are so fat that they are unable to move. As Gramma Stuffum proclaims victory, she realizes that there are only 4 children in the room, and that one is missing. Numbuh 2 then returns to the room, wearing an improvised commando outfit, and continues to eat all the food that is sent his way. Eventually, however, he is unable to eat anymore and falls to the floor. Gramma Stuffum then orders the dessert to be served.

The liver and onions order the dessert foods to attack, only to look over and see that they have been eaten by the hamsters, who are back from vacation. The hamsters then proceed to eat the remainder of the food army, and Gramma Stuffum, along with the liver and onions, are launched out of the treehouse by the "rubber band food flinger". Gramma Stuffum lands in the Delightful Mansion, where she again sees the Delightful Children and attacks them with her food.

 We are hereby introduced to the Parent Teacher Organisation of Eradicating Youngsters. This is Principal.

Here is Mad Dad.

Here is Terrible Tutor, or as he likes to call himself "Terrible Tooter". 

Heli Teacher! 

Mid-Western Mum, or as she likes to call herself "Mid-Western Mahm". 

Here is the source of power the KND use for their treehouse. Hamsters.

But the hamsters are going on a holiday?! 

"Hamster holiday! Fun for all!"

Numbuh 3 sent them! 

We are hereby introduced to the lame villain, Toiletnator. 

But a villain that will work. Gramma Stuffum, throwing food. 

In the dark, Numbuhs 3 and 5 are telling scary stories.

The hamsters are enjoying themselves now. On holiday.

What could go wrong? Gramma Stuffum! 

With no power, Numbuh 3 can't attack with those teddy bears. 

But Numbuh 2 is attacking. I have a gut feeling about this. 

Time for a 2nd Course! 

And most of Sector V are obese thanks to the food. 

Numbuh 2 is ready to attack! 

And he's eating some pies, but he won't take it anymore.

Lucky the hamsters have finished their holiday. 

And they helped eat Gramma's food! 

Send her back to the kitchen! 

But the Delightful Children already ate!


Well, we got an introduction to some villains. The PTOOEY, Toiletnator, and Gramma Stuffum.

PTOOEY make sense considering how much many kids hate having to go to school, and it shows that school is rather about doing as good as you can than learning what you need to know.

I've noticed something here. When Numbuh 3 said "Hamsters work so hard, they need a vacation!" She sounded just like Amy Rodriguez from Futurama. 
I read that Toiletnator was originally going to be a one-time gag. I wonder what would've happened if he was a one-time gag?

While this episode was gross in many parts, it was still entertaining. That Toiletnator was funny. And Numbuh 2 really showed how bottomless his belly can be by eating all of that gross food.

My rating: 8.5/10.

5. Operation: T.E.E.T.H.
Tooth Extracting Enemy Terrorises Headquarters.
Written by: Thomas Warburton and Mo Willems.
Aired: 13 December 2002.

It starts with Numbuh 3 walking down the street eating candy. During this, her hideous teeth are revealed. When she takes a wrong turn, near a dentist place, the sun suddenly becomes a moon and a light is turned on followed by evil laughter. Kuki turns around and sees the shadow of a stalker and Kuki screams while the stalker grabs her. The candy she carries is spilled. Kuki comes out with a red toothbrush and discovers her teeth are shining extremely brightly. She screams one more time, louder and Knightbrace with a red toothbrush, is seen on the roof and laughs, maniacally. He jumps from roof to roof and disappears.

The Sector V team is waiting for Numbuh 3 to come back from the candy store. After the impatient kids scold Kuki, they discover that when Kuki shows her teeth, they shine brightly, causing the team to go into shock. Numbuh 1 claims that his teeth should look like the rest of the team's and it is discovered that the entire group (except Numbuh 1) has horrible teeth. Numbuh 5 suggests they go get some candy for Kuki's teeth and Numbuh 1 agrees saying, "To the Candy Store!"

The team, using Kuki's teeth as a flashlight, walk to the candy store. Numbuh 1 tells Kuki to look ahead and a dentist named Dr. Sigmund Teef appears in front of the kids and offers a complimentary check-up. The doctor shows the kids to the door and the team ignores the dentist and walks away. Numbuh 4 even calls the dentist a freak. Next to the dentist is the candy store where the team discovers that the candy store is closed. Numbuh 2 humorously says, "Closed! But its only midnight!" As the team leaves, the door suddenly opens and the candy man tells the kids to come back. The candyman, Mr. Jelly, lets the kids in with a friendly wave from Numbuh 3. The kids than stuff themselves with candy from barrels using bags. Numbuh 2 asks if Mr. Jelly has any taffy and Mr. Jelly nervously says that they're fresh out. Mr. Jelly sends the kids away with Sector V smiling and walking down the dark aisle. Numbuh 4 and the rest talk about Mr. Teef (the dentist) and demonstrate how they'd fight off the dentist. Numbuh 4 eventually stops talking to the kids about happiness and the rest of the team doesn't bother to look back. The team goes back to the treehouse where they find Numbuh 4 with giant braces, sitting on a chair mumbling and trying to talk. Numbuh 5 calls this being bracified. Numbuh 1 discovers a tag with a purple tooth that threatens to brush after meals or snacks, or else. It also says Signed, Knightbrace.

Numbuh 2 asks "what's a Knightbrace?" Numbuh 5 claims it has to be the dentist while Numbuh 4 is trying to say, Mr Jelly. Numbuh 1 says that they shouldn't jump to conclusions. Numbuh 1 makes a plan to lure the enemy and tells Numbuh 2 to get more candy. Suddenly, Numbuh 1 discovers Numbuh 2, and 5 are gone and notices the treehouse door is opened with a few leaves blowing in. Numbuh 1 comes out and looks around finding Numbuh 2 and 5 tied together by a web of dental floss and talking. Numbuh 1 decides that Dr. Sigmund Teef is behind this all.

Sector V goes to the alley where Numbuh 3 was attacked and hide while they wait for Knightbrace to attack a fake Nigel puppet surrounded by candy. Knightbrace comes and scrubs the decoy rapidly. Numbuh 1 comes from a garbage can and calls the signal. Numbuh 3 shines her light at Knightbrace and the team comes to battle him. Numbuh 1 is hit with a toothpaste, glueing him to the nearby fence. Knightbrace throws his headgear at Numbuhs 5 and 2 which knocks them down and flies back into his mouth. Knightbrace than uses a giant red toothbrush at a singing Numbuh 3. Knightbrace misses Numbuh 3 who dances away. Kuki than shines her teeth at Knightbrace to his annoyance and causes him to use a mirror stunning Numbuh 3. Knightbrace jumps into a nearby window to escape.

The team follows Knightbrace to Dr. Teef's office and search around for him. While they are looking, Knightbrace suddenly comes below and attacks Numbuh 1. Numbuh 4 uses his braces to hurt Knightbrace's foot. Numbuh 3 than shines her teeth at Knightbrace. Numbuhs 2 and 5 come over tying their floss together and knock Knightbrace down. Suddenly, the door opens and the team discovers Dr. Teef isn't behind Knightbrace. Numbuh 1 unmasks Knightbrace and he is revealed to be none other than Mr. Jelly!

Mr. Jelly reveals that he wanted to be a dentist ever since he was a child (as seen when he practiced it on his dog), but was kicked out of dental school for putting braces on babies. With no other choices, Mr. Jelly had to work in his family's candy shop and watch children constantly enter to buy and eat candy (which he calls "cavity-inducing treats"). It was too much for him to bear, so he became the vigilante Knightbrace to correct all the damage he did.

Dr. Teef states to Mr. Jelly he and the other dentists told him he can't force children to clean their teeth, but Mr. Jelly suddenly jumps onto Dr. Teef's chair and uses it as a weapon. Mr. Teeth tries to convince Knightbrace to stop, but chickens out and dodges a toothpaste blast. Soon, Numbuhs 2 through 5 are glued to the wall with toothpaste. Mr. Jelly is about to finish off Numbuh 1 and nearly succeeds doing so, until Dr. Teef comes in and throws a whip of taffy at Knightbrace. Mr. Jelly eats it and it is discovered that it's his only weakness. But the taffy gets stuck in the machine and Numbuh 1 is freed. In the end, Mr. Jelly is tired from eating taffy and his machine is covered with taffy, keeping it from moving. Mr. Teef claims that his brother in law will take the candy store and offers the kids, a free check-up again. The team laughs and Numbuh 4 calls Mr. Teef a freak once again.

This episode begins with Numbuh 3 carrying lollies and eating a lollipop.

But someone's attacked her! 

And the culprit must've brushed her teeth so thoroughly, they light up. 

And Numbuh 1 says teeth are supposed to be rotten. Blegh! 

The first suspect of the crime is Doctor Sigmund Teeth.

But Mister Jelly let the KND eat all the lollies in the world! 

Numbuh 4 did shut up, because the tooth maniac bracified his teeth. 

Someone stuck dental floss in Numbuhs 2 and 5! 

Numbuh 3 just accidentally caused Numbuh 4 to hurt Numbuh 1's foot! 

Here's the culprit! Knightbrace! A fake Numbuh 1 works well. 

Knightbrace is attacking Numbuh 3 with a big toothbrush! 

Numbuh 4 did hurt Knightbrace.

As it turns out, Knightbrace isn't Doctor Teef. It's Mister Jelly.

A sad story about Knightbrace. He wanted to be a dentist, but was rejected. 

And Knightbrace's machine is full of toffee!


Well, we got an interesting villain in the series, and that's Knightbrace, obsessed with dental hygiene. This villain makes sense for a show like this since a lot of kids hate having to brush their teeth after every meal, though it's important to brush your teeth at least twice daily.

Of course, the KND suspected Knightbrace was Doctor Teef since he's a dentist, and we all know how much kids hate having to go to the dentist every now and again.

Why would Knightbrace try putting braces on babies? We all know babies don't grow any teeth until at least they're able to walk.

I've been making a guess. Doctor Teef must be a reference to Doctor Teeth from The Muppets.

Well, this episode was still interesting at least. An interesting villain, and that delicious confectionary at that lolly store, now run by Doctor Sigmund Teef's brother. Plus, Knightbrace's attacks really backfiring like Numbuh 4 hurting his foot, Numbuh 3 blinding him with super clean teeth, and Numbuhs 2 and 5 trapping him with dental floss.

My rating: 9/10.

This episode was another interesting watch. An old lady obsessed with making kids obese, and a former lolly-shop owner obsessed with making kids' teeth as clean as possible. The KND really know their job!
