HHPAY S1E10: Treasure Map, Kaz Versus Katz & Bad Manager

Alright, fellow rock stars! I'm ready to do another review on Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi for all of you. Here we are, the 10th episode.

28. Treasure Map.
Written by: David Slack.
Aired: 21 January 2005.

Ami, Yumi, and Kaz find a treasure map while driving to their next destination. Being wrapped around greed, the trio start to fight one another to take the treasure map for themselves, only to find that the so-called 'treasure map' is actually an abstract painting.

Whew! Close call!

Well, Kaz really didn't have his glasses on upside-down, but they were on backwards.

Cheapskate sure loves his money, doesn't he?

Yeah, Ami sure did build that wall high!

Oh, so it was a painting, not a map!

Well, this episode was just strange in a way, but still good. Our trio fighting over some painting, thinking it was a map!  I will admit, it was funny when Kaz had his glasses on backward and turned himself invisible, and even when he imagined himself laying a giant gold egg, as well as Ami's imagination of luxurious outfits and Yumi's imagination of attacking mummies.

My rating: 8.5/10.

29. Kaz Versus Katz.
Written by: Mike Kazaleh.
Aired: 21 January 2005.

Alone with the girls’ cats (Jang Keng and Tekirai), Kaz decides to get them out of his hair by putting them outside for the night. But the cats quickly outsmart Kaz and lock him outside.

Yep. Here we are, the episode that reveals that Ami's cat's name is Tekirai. (Pronounced Teck-Ee-Rye (with a tapped R))

This sure is a Tom & Jerry-esque episode, isn't it?

Kaz sure is a poor hider, huh?

Wow! Kaz really despises these felines, doesn't he?

This episode is just over the top hilarious! It sure might remind most of you of those Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes cartoons. Kaz being the bad guy, and the cats being the good guys. Definitely a hilarious one!

My rating: 10/10.

30. Bad Manager.
Written by: Mitch Watson.
Aired: 21 January 2005.
Kaz goes to a rock-paper-scissors contest, and loses the girls after he bets them. Surprisingly, the new manager treats them much better.

Here we are, the debut appearance of Slick Shady, and I must say, he sure looks cool.

He sure is a good tricker with Kaz.

Yeah, Slick sure is a better manager than Kaz ever was!

These girls don't seem to remember Kaz Harada doing anything fun with them.

Poor Kaz, all filthy.

This sure was some episode, huh? We got to see the girls get treated better than Kaz would treat them, and it is one of those where, even though Kaz can be a cheapskate, you can't help but feel sorry for him. A wonderful episode, but it's too bad Slick lost to the girls at the end because he's such a grand manager.

My rating: 9/10.

Final thoughts:

One interesting episode overall! We get to see the girls and Kaz fight over a dumb painting, Kaz fights with the cats, and even Kaz loses to a better manager than him. A very good ep overall.

My rating: 9/10.
