MSB S5E06: Carlos Gets the Sneezes

Time to sneeze out this review. One where Carlos constantly sneezes for a specific reason. Let's go into Carlos' immune system to see why. Blog, do your stuff!

58. Carlos Gets the Sneezes.
Topic: Allergies.

Carlos plans to convince Principal Ruhle to let the students keep a pet rat named Ratney in the classroom. But first, he'll have to stop sneezing.

"For Carlos only. Do not touch. Wanda."
"Whoa! I wonder what's in it!"
"P.S. That means you, Ralphie."

I wanda how Wanda knew Ralphie would touch this? 

The thing Wanda got for Carlos is an empty rat cage.

No wait. It's a white rat, Ratney. 

Now, Carlos is preparing to make an awesome speech, hoping for Mister Ruhle to allow them to keep Ratney. 

Because Carlos was sneezing, Arnold, being Mister "should've stayed home today" fears everyone will get sick. 

'

Someone's in this biohazard suit. Oh wait. It's just Ms. Frizzle. 

Arnold smells a field trip. Indeed you do, Arnold. 

Now The Magic School Bus is going to enter Carlos' nose to see if he has a cold. 

Funny the bus should hang onto one of Carlos' nose hairs when he accidentally sneezed. 

These T cells are going to attack the bus! 

Lucky the bus could turn into a UFO-like object to protect itself from the cells. 

"All systems normal. Body temperature, blood pressure. Pun production."
"Ha ha! That's phlegm-tastic!"

Love Liz facepalming at Carlos' pun. 

Here is booger boulevard. 

Useful things. Wanda and Jyoti protecting themselves while getting the bad guys. 

 But Keesha managed to get one.

"Huh? That's weird. I'd say this is funny, but it's snot!"
"Carlos!"

This is one reaction I have to question. 

Arnold explained how often he sneezes, explaining that Carlos is sneezing because he's allergic to something. 

"According to my reesearch, an allergic reaction happens when your immune system attacks harmless particles called allergens."

True, Dorothy Ann. 

I wish real 3D Printers could print this fast. Like Jyoti's design. 

Liz doesn't like the smell of Carlos' shoes. 

Here's the problem. Carlos is allergic to Ratney. 

Poor Carlos. Having to take Ratney back to the pet shelter. All because he's allergic to rats....

 ....or so we thought. He seems to be allergic to these flowers.

It's a match! Carlos is allergic to the pollen and not Ratney.

Mr. Ruhle's secretary can hear Mr. Ruhle sneezing, showing he's allergic to rats. 

Carlos will be looking forward to his new life with Ratney. 

 Here's a foreshadow to the next episode. Valerie and Goldie are hiding.


This episode is like Inside Ralphie, only it's Carlos-centric, Carlos didn't stay home, and it's about how we react to what we're allergic to.

I have to question the snot pun Carlos made upon looking under a microscope. The class reacted with the typical "Carlos!" when they could've said "Carlos, yuck!" like they did in Makes a Stink when they went into Janet's nose and he made a snot pun upon answering Arnold's question about the mucus in Janet's nose.

In Goes to Seed, Carlos wasn't allergic to the flowers in the garden at Phoebe's Old School, so it makes me think that maybe Carlos had grown an allergy to these flowers.

The ending explains that wild rats are extremely dangerous, and rats tamed to be pets are the only safe rats, and that all kinds of allergies exist.

Well, this is a clever semi-remake of Inside Ralphie. Carlos' puns were quite gross, but it does show what allergens do to us when we're allergic to said thing. Liz's moments were comical, and the beginning was funny. Though sometimes, I think this episode could've been called "Inside Carlos", but I digress.

My rating: 9/10.
