The class is planting a garden, but Phoebe's plant is at her old school. The students decide to go there, but Phoebe is worried about Ms. Frizzle embarrassing her and her former teacher, Mr. Seedplot.
Judging by what Liz was about to do to this lady beetle, she sure is the insectivorous chameleon she's always made out to be.
Looks like Carlos has a goal of being on Plant-it Magazine. I take it this foreshadowed him becoming famous on the internet many years after this episode aired, and everyone making strange puns on pop culture and the like while using him, especially since he's the class clown.
Here we go. The part the episode is meant to be teaching kids. How seeds in flowers grow. Just what Phoebe needs.
Yep, just the seed the class need, and for Carlos' desire to be on Plant-it Magazine and for Phoebe to have her plant grow.
Well, first of all, I would like to address one funny thing about Phoebe's so-referenced old school. It's actually called "Phoebe's Old School".
More funny moments include Arnold telling Phoebe she "should've stayed home today", and Phoebe saying that they never rode on bumblebees at her old school to which Keesha replied "We are at your old school, Phoebe." Also, there was Phoebe's imagination about what might happen if Mr. Seedplot met Ms. Frizzle.
Here's an interesting thing about Mr. Seedplot. He was voiced by Robby Benson, who you may already know for voicing Beast on Beauty and the Beast.
Also, about Phoebe's flower, it is, as Archibald said, a Flowering Madeupacus. Funny he said that since it's not a real flower, though it is based on real flowers.
What else is interesting is that, as Archibald started writing "Dear Valerie...", he was writing to Ms. Frizzle, quickly telling audiences that Ms. Frizzle's first name is Valerie.
Even with Phoebe's embarrassment, this episode was an interesting way to learn about seeds and how plants grow from them and how they're made. Funny things including the name of Phoebe's old school, Arnold telling Phoebe that she should've stayed home, Phoebe referencing her old school with Keesha replying they were there, Carlos' desire to be on a magazine, and the name of Phoebe's flower. And Mr. Seedplot, in the Producer's Segment, revealing Ms. Frizzle's first name.
Whuh-oh. Phoebe sure has a strange horrific imagination of what would happen if Ms. Frizzle did meet Mr. Seedplot. Thinking she'll embarrass them both.
"Maybe you should've stayed home today, Phoebe."
Would've been funny if Phoebe did stay home in this episode. Then she wouldn't have had to have experienced the embarrassment she was suffering in this.
Yep. This is the flower Phoebe had at her old school. Now she's desperate to get away from Mr. Seedplot.
This part further gives proof the main character of the series may be sentient, judging by what it did to Carlos here.
Read it and weep with laughter. Phoebe's old school is called "Phoebe's Old School". I wonder what kind of school it is? Could it be a private school, or a public school like Walkerville Elementary?
No need to be embarrassed, Phoebe. Looks like Ms. Frizzle is close friends with your old teacher. And interesting enough, Mr. Seedplot's first name is Archibald. And what's more, Robby Benson voiced him.
Carlos got his goal for this episode. The entire class is on Plant-it Magazine. And it's all thanks to Phoebe and Archibald Seedplot.
