MSB S4E11: Gets Programmed

We're in for another weird field trip. Into an old fashioned PC we go. This time, Carlos' brother Mikey returns. And he's helping to set up Mr. Ruhle's computer. This should be a byte of cake. Blog, do your stuff!

50. Gets Programmed.

Mr. Ruhle, the principal, gets a new computer, and Ms. Frizzle's class has the job of opening the school and set up his computer. Carlos's brother, Mikey, is a computer expert. After he sets the computer up to raise the flag, make the coffee in the teachers's lounge, and ring the bell, he goes on his own trip to see the inner workings of the computer. Carlos records his voice with a handheld microphone. As usual, something goes wrong, along with the replay of his recorded voice, and Mikey has set the computer to do the tasks every minute instead of everyday. Can the class get to Mikey to have him fix the problem?

Wanda wants another class to do all the chores before school, but it's the Frizzle Science Class's turn to set it up.

Here, we're introduced to Mr. McClean, the janitor of Walkerville Elementary.

And who is to appear in that box besides Ms. Frizzle!

And they brought Mr. Ruhle's new computer. And Carlos is turning everything on.

And we return Carlos' little brother Mikey. If he's an energy whiz, he's also a technology whiz.

"Hi! How are ya? Nice to see ya! Thanks for coming to school and....enjoy your day!"

The entire school get to hear Carlos every morning. 

And the printer is printing everything the computer has stored. Make coffee, turn on sprinklers, open doors, put up flag, greet students.

Mikey's going into the computer. He's a floppy disk!

But all is not that well. Everything is being done all over again!

Looks like The Magic School Bus is ready to take the class into the computer.

"So this is where the floppies go!"

"To the drive-in disk-o!"

"Carlos!"

Good one, Carlos! 

This here is the motherboard. It has all data stored. And the middle thing is the CPU, which controls the entire computer.

The class get to skateboard in the computer!

There's Mikey. He's following where the yellow bits go. The yellow bit road.

The school is going crazy! It's pulling Mr. McClean up the flag!

Now the normal school buses are coming!

And they've parked!

The class found Mikey!

Come on! Ride on The Magic Skateboard Bus!

The class are getting printed!

Even Arnold decided to hug Carlos, grateful the entire class had returned.

Mikey has made a mistake! He set the computer to do all the chores every minute instead of everyday except weekends.

Mr. Ruhle isn't pleased with what Ms. Frizzle's class did. He's thrilled!

Even Liz has a computer powered robot, and she's ordering it to make the Producer coffee.

I don't know if the Producer wants it anymore. Just joking.


We're in for an outdated adventure. Why outdated? Considering this was 1997, the super duper computer is outdated. I mean a floppy disk. What kid of today would know about floppy disks?

We got another English guest star in this. Mr. McClean is voiced by Malcolm McDowell. That would explain the Yorkshire accent.

And once again, Mr. Ruhle is voiced by the late Paul Winfield.

Who would've thought Carlos' brother Mikey would return? He's shown to be a computer whiz.

This episode was home to a reference to The Wizard of Oz. "Follow the yellow bit road."

While it was entertaining this episode, even if the computer in it is outdated, especially since this was 1997, it was pretty crazy, especially the flooded garden, the doors opening repeatedly, overmaking coffee, Mr. McClean getting wet, and overprinting. Though Mikey made a good return. Nowadays, computers use disks, SD Cards, USBs, and all other things. That's why I say the computer is outdated. And strangely, Arnold doesn't say he "should've stayed home today" despite the perils. Though Mikey did take chances and get messy by making that mistake. Now, did you finish reading this?
