TTTE S21E05: Runaway Engine

Now we're ending the first week of Season 21 of Thomas and Friends. This time, an episode with something we didn't expect, but some of us hoped for.

499. Runaway Engine.

Millie is given extra work around the estate and gets agitated when Stephen and Glynn forget to clear up the garden waste. When Stephen also manages to hurt her feelings, and can't find her the next day to apologise, he thinks that she must have run away.

I've got to say, after 2 or 3 years, we get an episode focused on Millie, and the other part is mainly focused on Stephen. Their dynamic is so useful. And we finally get to see more of Blue Mountain Quarry, and more of the engines who work there again, especially Luke. And also, we get to see more of Glynn.

And we get some references to The Switch. What Millie did in this episode was uncalled for, dumping all that dirt in front of Stephen.

Strange how the title of this episode was the working title for Blue Mountain Mystery, but they finally decided to use it as the title for this episode.

I also like the moral of being careful what you say, because what you say can hurt someone. And that it's best to say nothing if you have nothing nice to say.


And there is another thing that surprised me about this episode, and I'm sure it'll surprise you too. Bust my buffers, there is no Thomas in this episode! That's right! The first episode since Samson Sent for Scrap that doesn't feature Thomas anywhere, 'eck not even anyone from the Steam Team for that matter.
