TTTE S21E14: The Big Freeze

Since Christmas is just around the corner, I thought it time for me to review this year's Christmas episodes of Thomas.

508. The Big Freeze.

Aired: 1 December 2017.

Cold weather stops a delivery of coal arriving on Sodor, so the Fat Controller orders all engines to stay in their sheds. Thomas, however, thinks he has enough coal for one more run, but he gets stranded in the snow whilst the diesels take over the steam engine's jobs to keep the railway running.

This episode isn't without its faults. I mean a story about the cold and there's a coal shortage? It would've been wiser to have the story about the water towers freezing up, similar to Deep Freeze from James and the Diesel Engines. 

And what is it with HiT, Mattel and the small diesels? This episode, along with A Shed for Edward, could've been a great chance to bring Boco back to the series, but no. They seem to prefer small diesels for some reason.

Also, I was expecting this episode to be similar to the series finale of TUGS, which happens to have the same title.

Overall, this episode goes to show that when it comes to writing, even Helen isn't perfect.
