Robotboy S1E11: Underwater & Kamikazi Nightmare

This is the time for me to give you another Robotboy review.

21. Underwater.

In this episode after Dwight Turnbull receives a letter winning a free boat hiking he brings both Tommy and Donnie to go out fishing only that the boat is being spied by Kamikazi.

Yep, the first time Dwight actually teaches Thomas to be a man.

Man, Kamikazi's knife fish Sparky sure hates him!

Hold it! Did Donnie just say "Dickwad"?! On a kids' show?

Look! A Constantine fish!

No fish.

Donnie really was scared on this trip!

This episode sure was one ocean adventure! The way Donnie was scared shows that we're not always as brave as we say we are. Also, Kamikazi's moment with Sparky was a shock too! Get it? Shock? No wonder Tommy loathes fishing, it also further proves that Dwight seems to prefer Donnie over Tommy. Not to mention how funny it was when Dwight found out that Capt'n was a fake.

My rating: 9.5/10.

22. Kamikazi Nightmare.

Tommy dreamed about him as a commander of a robot army chasing Kamikazi along with Robotboy's Superactive Mode. When Kamikazi notices the dream through a nightmare-gun, and uses it to turn giant and turn Tommy's dream into a nightmare. After waking up, Tommy accidently activates Robotboy, who superactivates to protect Tommy. Tommy gets in trouble for destroying his bedroom and Dwight takes Robotboy with him to sell him. He sold him to Kamikazi and Constantine, who pretended to be toy collectors. When Tommy finds about that, he, Gus and Lola make a poisonous Tapas that gives nightmares and hallucinations and give it to Kamikazi as a revenge. Constatine suspects in Kamikazi and tells him not to eat it, but Kamikazi already ate it, and started hallucinating. Due to hallucinating, Kamikazi was electrified, causing the entire room to be electrified and reveal it's filled with insects from Kamikazi's nightmare that became real. Tommy activated Robotboy, who superactivated to destroy all the insects to protect him and his friends. In the end of the episode, Tommy, Robotboy and friends discover Gus ate the remaining Tapas, resulting in a snail coming out of his ear. Tommy, Robotboy and Lola ran away, and Gus ate the snail and grew a snail leg.

Tommy is an admirable.

Kamikazi hates bugs!

So this is where Dwight works.

Ha! Kamikazi doesn't know how to turn Robotboy on!

Look at this! Lola kissed Tommy, on the lips, on a kids' show.

Dwight sure knows how to describe Kamikazi. Scrawny runt, glasses, funny voice.

How did Lola know where to find Kamikazi?

These tapas are made of African trees? Well, I guess Lola is part African.

Kamikazi kissed Laubotboy?

So Constantine was adopted?

Now Goose is getting nightmares! 



This is one hilarious episode! Kamikazi getting nightmares and trying to turn Robotboy on, Dwight's description of Kamikazi and also a cute part, Lola kissing Thomas on the lips. (You can hear the sound) Not to mention other funny moments with Kamikazi trying to turn Robotboy on and trying to lift the dumbbell. Anyway, this is overall my favourite of Season 1.

My rating: 10/10.

Final thoughts:

Another overall interesting episode. We got Robotboy going underwater from Kamikazi, and we got Kamikazi having nightmares as well as Lola kissing Tommy Turnbull. Very smart episode.

Robotboy S1E10: The Boy Who Cried Kamikazi & Christmas Evil

Thought I would come back and give another Robotboy review here. This time, it's on a controversial episode.

19. The Boy Who Cried Kamikazi.

When Robotboy gets his new freeze ray weapon installed, Gus and Tommy use it to their advantage to skip classes by saying, "Oh no! It's Dr. Kamikazi!" To which Robotboy freezes everything. Eventually Robotboy finds out, learns what lying is and then Kamikazi really attacks, and Robotboy fights him. After that, Tommy apologizes.

Man, Gus likes to cheat.

Kamikazi getting hurt by animals never gets old!

Man, Gus sure doesn't want to do his test!

Kamikazi should've taken the milk.

I must say, this episode was super hilarious! A hilarious parody of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". Gus wanting Robotboy to freeze everyone so he wouldn't have to do lessons, after all, school isn't really about learning, it's just about getting good grades. And Kamikazi and Constantine's moments were hilarious too!

My rating: 10/10.

20. Christmas Evil.

In this episode when Tommy and the gang see that Kamikazi wants to take over Christmas they figure out a plan to stop him from taking over the holiday.

Hmm...Doctor Kamikazi is up to his evil schemes as usual.

Wow. Donnie has that....vibrator.....thermo...whatever it is.

Notice that Brenda here sounds a lot like Britney Spears here.

The way Doctor K and Constant Motion sing this "Christmas will not come this year", I sing it whenever we receive silly rumours that the world would end sometime before Christmas that year.

Wait! Did Kamikazi say "Jackass"....on a kids' show?!

Gus' presents? How did Father Christmas know they were for Gus?

Muscular Santa.

Robotboy present!

"Pull mah finger!" We have that one elsewhere, Santy Claus.

This sure was one epic episode and only less than a second of it was somewhat offensive. I said offensive because Doctor Kamikazi said "Jackass" on a kids' show. This is also why I called this a controversial episode. And Santa sure was epic in this and might I say, Kamikazi is a Grinch.

My rating: 10/10.

Final thoughts:

What can I say? This episode was overall epic! We got a parody of The Boy Who Cried Wolf and we got Kamikazi calling Constantine "Jackass!" as well as his devious scheme for Christmas to not come. Clever episode overall.

Robotboy S1E09: Robot Love & Brother Bjorn

Time for me to get another Robotboy review over and done with.

17. Robot Love.

Written by: Michael Rubiner.

Aired: UK: 11 November 2005. US: 4 February 2006.

Robocon, the robot convention, is in town. Robotboy and Gus convince Tommy to go to it. Gus secretly enters Robotboy into the fighting competition there. After defeating most of the opposing robots, Robotboy finds himself fighting against the beautiful robot, Mona Lethal. He doesn't fight her at first, giving her the opportunity to beat him. He eventually fights back and defeats her.

Not Bambi again! I'll get to why I hate her in a later review.

Clever disguise, Goose.

Ronald Rump. Hmmm.....his name sounds like a certain American democrat.....hmm...it's on the tip of my tongue.

 Mona Lethal. Her name sounds a lot like the name of a certain meerkat painting, Mona Lisa.

Now Tommy and Gus are fighting back!

Poor Robotboy.

Yep, another mediocre Robotboy episode. Robotboy sure doesn't know what Robocon is, even though he's a robot himself. And as for Mona Lethal's creator, he sure does have a familiar sounding name. Robotboy was just too infatuated with Mona Lethal to even fight, but fortunately, as she was about to attack Tommy and Goose, Robotboy did so. The moral was contradicted at the end too. Tommy is in love with Bambi. Ugh! The moral? Looks can be deceiving.

My rating: 5/10.

18. Brother Bjorn.

Aired: UK: 11 November 2005. US: 4 March 2006.

A genius child named Bjorn Bjornson, a former student to Professor Moshimo wants to get Roboboy and destroy him in a fight with his own robot double, Bjornbot, to prove he's the best fighting robot in the world.

That's right, this episode, as the title implies, is the first to star Bjorn Bjornson and his robot, Bjornbot.

An incredible battle arena!

Hmm....pretty unusual for a kids' show to use the word "Sissy".

Bjornbot looks tough!

Now here's an incredible episode! The first episode to star Bjorn, and might I say, his voice sounds like a combination of Stewie from The Family Guy and Nigie Uno from Codename Kids Next Door, only with an Icelandic accent. And it sure was funny of Gus to get beaten up by Kurt, Stu and Mookie as well as Donnie at the end!

My rating: 9.5/10.

Final thoughts:

This episode was also decent. We had a mediocre one and a superb one in one. Robotboy falling for a female robot as well as Bjorn Bjornson being introduced. Decent episode overall.

Robotboy S1E08: I Want That Toy & Sweet Revenge

Time to make a bittersweet Robotboy review this time.

15. I Want That Toy.

When Kamikazi opens a toy store to attract Tommy and Gus, Tommy is falsely caught for stealing a robot toy (Robotboy). Robotboy is left inside the store for Kamikazi to snatch. After being helped out by Gus and Lola, Tommy arrives at the toy store and gets Robotboy back. Kamikazi is defeated and the episode ends.

Ah, Tommy and Gus watching The Human Fist.

Tommy has stolen a toy?

Ha! Dwight and Deb have been wet!

Now Lola and Goose are ninjas.

So Kamikazi has a remote control to control Robotboy?

Gus is upset that his buttkisser is dead?

Welcome to the first Robotboy episode with major plotholes, Brobotboys. Alright, first of all, how did the security of the toy shop get Tommy Turnbull's phone number? Second, how did Doctor Kamikazi and Constantine know the ad would attract Robotboy? Third, why would Gus be attracted to a weak talking toy like that? Though I did get good chuckles from Kamikazi and Constantine's stupid moments.

This is my least favourite of Season 1 and I feel it could have had more effort put into it. A lot more.

My rating: 4/10.

16. Sweet Revenge.

Aired: UK: 10 November 2005. US: 25 February 2006.

After a terrible accident Tommy is sent together with his family and Gus to the city's hospital to check his injure. When Gus grabs the candy, Robotboy wanted some and ate some. This made him malfunction and into Kamikazi's hands. Gus shoots Kamikazi's hot air balloon down, and Robotboy is cleaned and defeats Kamikazi.

Hmm...could Donnie have been responsible for Tommy's lump?

Gus really wants that sweet sweet confectionery.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, anyone?

Cute! So cute!

Gus finally got the confectionery!

Alright, for those of you who think this Kazi-Crunch bar is made of chocolate, it's not chocolate. It's just ordinary confectionery. Confectionery=sugar=dissolves in water. And this is why you don't put confectionery into machinery.

Another cute moment.

Yep, this is one brilliant episode! We get to see Gus further prove himself to be a goose, and we get a cute moment with Lola and Tommy. Not to mention that delicious Kazi-Crunch bar. This is among my favourites of Season 1. Hmm...could go for a Kazi-Crunch bar right now.

My rating: 10/10.

Final thoughts:

Who would have known? A meh episode and a fantastic episode put together! Tommy getting Robotboy confiscated for no reason, and Gus being the typical goose he is as well as dying for the Kazi-Crunch bar. This is still a full decent episode.
